About Septic Tanks Galway

Septic Tanks Galway is a locally focused service-area business built around practical septic, wastewater and groundwork experience. We help homeowners understand what is happening below ground and choose a sensible way to deal with it.

Our Story

Padraig Hynes founded Septic Tanks Galway after spending more than a decade working around drainage, excavation and rural groundworks. He grew up outside Claregalway, where private wastewater systems were a normal part of maintaining homes outside mains drainage areas. Early in his working life he became used to the realities that make these jobs different from one property to the next: old tanks with uncertain layouts, long pipe runs, awkward access and ground that does not always behave the way a drawing suggests it will.

What stayed with Padraig was how difficult septic problems could be for homeowners to understand. A customer might be told to empty a tank by one person, replace it by another and investigate the drains by somebody else. He wanted to build a business that looked at the complete practical situation first and explained the choices in plain language. That became the basis of Septic Tanks Galway.

Padraig now works with Aoife Grealish and Martin Fahy. Aoife, originally from Spiddal, coordinates customer enquiries and plans the practical details that help jobs run smoothly. Martin is from Athenry and works directly with Padraig on excavation, tank positioning and site work. They share a simple view of the trade: understand the problem, prepare the site properly, communicate clearly and avoid doing more work than the property genuinely needs.

How We Work

Straight answers

We explain what we see, what we think is causing the problem and why a particular next step makes sense. Customers should not need a background in wastewater systems to understand the work being proposed.

Do the necessary work

A septic problem does not automatically justify the biggest possible job. We prefer a practical repair when repair makes sense and a properly planned replacement when it does not.

Respect the property

Excavation can be disruptive, so we plan machinery access and working areas carefully. Our aim is to complete the agreed work without creating avoidable disturbance elsewhere on the site.

Think locally

Galway properties vary from open rural sites to restricted coastal and village plots. We approach each job according to the actual access, ground conditions and wastewater arrangement in front of us.
